RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta- The Ministry of Defense held a free homecoming program for TNI personnel and their families. The program, which took place at the Ministry of Defense in Jakarta on Friday, March 13, 2026, used 27 Ministry-owned buses.
The bus departure ceremony was attended by several high-ranking officials within the Ministry of Defense, including the Secretary General of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia, Lieutenant General Tri Budi Utomo.
He conveyed to the media that this activity was held to facilitate Indonesian Military (TNI) personnel and their families in carrying out their homecoming journey, so they can gather with their families during the Eid al-Fitr holiday.
"The number of participants for the 2026 Eid homecoming program is 712 people. They include their families, civil servants (ASN), TNI personnel, and their families," Tri Budi stated during a press conference at the Ministry of Defense Office.
They will depart from Jakarta for several major cities on the island of Java, such as Yogyakarta, Solo, Surabaya, and Lampung on the island of Sumatra.
The Ministry of Defense will not only facilitate their homecoming journey, but will also facilitate their return to Jakarta.
"Hopefully, on March 28, they will be able to gather with us again here to resume their normal activities," Tri said.
Moreover, He explained that before dispatching the Ministry of Defense buses, his side inspected the buses' engines and other equipment. This was to ensure the vehicles were roadworthy and safe to reach their destinations.
In addition, he also ensured that all drivers are in good health and fit for long-distance driving.
With this initiative, Tri hopes that all members of the Ministry of Defense and the Indonesian Military (TNI) can safely, smoothly, and conducively carry out their homecoming journey.
According to Tri, the details of the travelers are as follows: 280 people from Solo, 236 from Yogyakarta, 134 from Surabaya, and 57 from Lampung. He also urged the travelers to return together so they can return to work at the Ministry of Defense on March 28, 2026.
