RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has ensured that energy stocks remain secure and distribution runs smoothly during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1447 H, particularly in western Java.
Director General of Oil and Gas, Laode Sulaeman, said fuel oil (BBM), liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and crude oil supplies are sufficient. “The public does not need to panic. We are also implementing innovations, including optimal fuel utilization according to needs,” Laode said during a working visit to PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Subholding Downstream Refinery Unit VI Balongan, West Java, on Thursday, March 12, 2026, as quoted by Antara.
He added that Pertamina has prepared infrastructure to support the mobility of people returning to their hometowns. In the West Java Region (RJBB), there are 1,620 gas stations, 439 Pertashops, 2,331 LPG agents, 206 LPG filling stations (SPBEs), and two kerosene agents. “During the RAFI period, Pertamina will also provide additional services such as motorists, and its posts will be equipped with facilities not normally available during other seasons,” he said.
Pertamina is preparing energy facilities and services to ensure fuel and LPG availability during Ramadan and the 2026 Eid al-Fitr exodus.
The company operates 427 gas stations around the clock, supported by 2,180 standby LPG agents. Additional services include 18 fuel service points and kiosks, 52 Pertamina Delivery Service (PDS) points, 563 Bright Gas PDS agents, and 62 tanker trucks on standby at gas stations.
Pertamina has also set up 11 Serambi MyPertamina points, which serve as rest areas equipped with mini clinics, children’s play areas, and vehicle services.
Based on historical data and projections from March 9 to April 1, 2026, energy demand in western Java is expected to rise. Gasoline demand is projected to increase by 9.6 percent, in line with higher private vehicle use during the homecoming season.
Aviation fuel demand is expected to rise slightly by 0.5 percent, while LPG demand will grow by 2.86 percent due to increased household activity during Ramadan.
Industrial fuel consumption is projected to increase by 7.9 percent, while diesel demand is expected to decline by 27.3 percent due to restrictions on logistics vehicle operations during the exodus and return flows.
Energy supply in the region is supported by the Balongan Refinery, which has a processing capacity of 150,000 barrels per day (MBSD). The refinery has a Nelson Complexity Index (NCI) of 11.9, making it the most complex crude oil processing facility in Indonesia.
About 82 percent of its production is distributed to Jakarta and West Java via the Balongan Integrated Terminal, the Cikampek Fuel Terminal, and the Jakarta Integrated Terminal (Plumpang). Around 12 percent is distributed domestically, while approximately 6 percent, in the form of decant oil, is exported to Singapore. ***
