RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Chairman of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Agency (BKSAP) of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Syahrul Aidi Maazat, received a courtesy call from the Ambassador of Palestine to Indonesia, Abdalfatah A.K. Alsattari, at Nusantara III Building, Parliamentary Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday, 10 March 2026. The meeting discussed strengthening relations between Indonesia and Palestine as well as efforts to reinforce humanitarian support for the Palestinian people.

As quoted by dpr.go.id, He also mentioned that the Palestinian Ambassador, who has been serving in Indonesia for about two months, visited on a courtesy call while also discussing various recent developments in Palestine. He affirmed Indonesia's steadfast support for the cause of the Palestinian people.

“We discussed many issues, but mainly discussed ways to strengthen the relationship between Indonesia and Palestine and ensure that our support for the Palestinian people remains strong,” Syahrul Aidi conveyed.

He also added that the current condition faced by the Palestinian people is still in a dire situation due to the ongoing conflict with Israel, both in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. Therefore, according to him, support from various parties, including the international community, is greatly needed.

Syahrul also mentioned the deep-rooted solidarity of Indonesian people with Palestine. He mentioned that there are around 120 organizations in Indonesia that consistently provide attention and assistance to the Palestinian people.

Besides, BKSAP plans to facilitate meetings between those organizations and non-governmental organizations from Palestine. “We hope to bring together organizations in Indonesia that care about Palestine with Palestinian NGOs so that the assistance provided can become more coordinated and effective,” he said.

In addition, Syahrul emphasized that the DPR RI, through BKSAP, will continue to support the Indonesian government’s diplomatic efforts in advocating for Palestinian independence in various international forums, including the United Nations.

He underscored that Indonesia will never abandon Palestine and will continue striving to provide both political support and humanitarian assistance for the Palestinian people. “We must continue making various efforts, both politically and humanitarian, to help the Palestinian people,” he stated.
