RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto has reminded Indonesians to prepare for the potential global impact of the conflict in the Middle East, warning that the situation could pose challenges that must be faced collectively.

“We are not hiding behind the existing system. We are facing difficulties with the intention of overcoming them. We must have the courage to confront difficulties head on. We cannot cover them up or pretend they do not exist,” Prabowo said while inaugurating the construction of hundreds of bridges across Indonesia via the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel on Monday, March 9, 2026.

Despite the challenges, the president stressed the government’s strong commitment to addressing the situation and said Indonesia has sufficient strength to navigate the difficulties.

“We have great strength. But I must be honest with the entire nation; I will deliver a briefing to the Indonesian people in the near future,” he said.

Prabowo said the ongoing conflict in the Middle East has triggered instability across the world. He therefore emphasized the importance of transparency from the government regarding the challenges the country may face.

He also expressed appreciation for the role of the Indonesian Military (TNI) as one of the state’s main pillars, saying it has demonstrated its commitment as a force that stands with the people.

“Today, I am proud that the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia has once again shown that the Indonesian military is the people’s army,” Prabowo said. (Misni Parjiati/Lasti Martina)
