RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta: The Indonesian Government strengthened anti-corruption measures in halal services through the launch of the Jaga Halal Certification Application Dashboard in Jakarta, Wednesday, March 4, 2026. The program was initiated by the Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH) together with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). The event also included an anti-corruption socialization session.

Head of BPJPH, Ahmad Haikal Hasan, stated that anti-corruption is intrinsic to the agency’s mandate. He said BPJPH directly deals with essential daily consumer products. Therefore, integrity reflects moral values, social norms, and ethical responsibility in halal governance.

He underlined the risks of damaged public trust in halal administration. He warned that misconduct could create systemic consequences.

“BPJPH is different from other institutions, because we deal with what is consumed by people from all walks of life-from elementary school children to the elderly. Imagine if someone is caught wearing an orange vest, handling halal matters in a place that is haram. When public trust is damaged, the impact becomes systemic,” he said.

Haikal emphasized that halal certification is not merely administrative. It concerns legal legitimacy as regulated in Law Number 33 of 2014 on Halal Product Assurance. If integrity is compromised, institutional reputation and the enforcement of mandatory halal policy could also be affected.

Moreover, he stressed a zero tolerance policy toward any corrupt practices within halal services. The newly launched dashboard symbolizes BPJPH’s commitment to clean and accountable governance. It is expected to strengthen transparency, monitoring, and stakeholder oversight.

“There must be no illegal levies, whether consciously or unconsciously. We have decided on zero tolerance toward corrupt practices in any form. This system must be safeguarded together,” he said.

Deputy for Prevention and Monitoring at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Aminudin, highlighted the importance of safeguarding institutional dignity. He said public service quality directly influences public perception and integrity survey results.

Slow bureaucracy, he warned, could hinder agile business actors. “Do not let BPJPH’s dignity fall because of individual misconduct. When dignity falls, many parties will mock it. Restoring it requires extraordinary effort,” Aminudin said.

The event also introduced Corruption Eradication Commission Regulation Number 1 of 2026 on amendments to Regulation Number 2 of 2019 concerning gratuity reporting. The regulation strengthens reporting and control mechanisms within government institutions, including BPJPH. The synergy aims to ensure clean, professional, and sustainable halal certification governance nationwide.
