Indonesia Pushes Data-Driven Cultural Policy Strategy

RRI.CO.ID, Taggerang - Indonesia is strengthening its push toward data-driven cultural governance as part of efforts to modernize the national cultural ecosystem. Minister of Culture, Fadli Zon, visited Indonesia Indicator to explore collaboration on a National Cultural Dashboard initiative.
The visit took place at the company’s operational office in Parigi Baru, Pondok Aren, South Tangerang, Tuesday, 3 March 2026. The minister was received by President Director, Muhammad Ridwan Prasetyarto, and Communications Director, Rustika Herlambang.
During the meeting, Fadli Zon, emphasized the importance of integrating technology and data analytics into cultural policy development. He said digital tools are now inseparable from efforts to advance cultural management.
“This is something important for us and part of the technological progress that we cannot avoid. We are grateful for the support in mapping cultural data and developing a cultural dashboard that will be very beneficial for future cultural advancement,” Fadli said.
Indonesia Indicator specializes in Big Data analysis and technology-based monitoring systems. The partnership aims to integrate cultural data into a comprehensive dashboard that can serve as a foundation for more precise and responsive policymaking.
According to the minister, technology such as artificial intelligence and digital scanning can also accelerate heritage revitalization efforts. He cited digital modeling systems that can help identify and reconstruct damaged cultural heritage structures with greater speed and accuracy.
Fadli stressed that technological adoption must be accompanied by in-depth discussions with experts to ensure proper implementation. He added that such innovation could help elevate Indonesia’s cultural presence on the global stage.
The visit underscored the Ministry of Culture’s commitment to leveraging technology as a core component of national cultural advancement. Through cross-sector collaboration, the government aims to build a sustainable, inclusive, and globally relevant cultural ecosystem.
