RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The government, through the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Cultural Affairs, is accelerating technical coordination for post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. This step is a follow-up to Presidential Decree Number 1 of 2026.

As quoted by the press release of the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Cultural Affairs on 2 March 2026, Assistant Deputy for Disaster Management, Merry Efriana, emphasized in the coordination meeting that strengthening single data is a vital instrument to ensure recovery proceeds without obstacles. The integration of information between agencies is the key to ensuring that all stages of reconstruction are well-monitored.

"Single data serves as a common reference so that the implementation of rehabilitation and reconstruction can proceed transparently, accountably, and on communities target." Through cross-sector coordination, we ensure that post-disaster recovery truly has a direct impact on the affected communities," Merry stated, Wednesday, 25 February 2026.

This effort involves the synergy of nine ministries and agencies, including the military/police and the Ministry of Finance. The main focus is the synchronization of cross-sector data to improve the accuracy of policies taken by the government in addressing the national impact of disasters.

In its implementation, the Indonesian Central Statistics Agency is also developing an interactive monitoring dashboard for field data validation. Various sectors, from infrastructure and small industries to environmental protection, are now in the stage of intensive recovery progress reporting.

The meeting agreed that data updates would be conducted periodically every week thru a digital monitoring system. All relevant agencies are requested to submit progress reports no later than March 2, 2026, to the Head of the Task Force and March 8, 2026, to the President of the Republic of Indonesia.

Thru this strategic step, the government is committed to strengthening disaster management governance that is more transparent and accountable, with the main priorities being public safety and economic recovery in the affected areas.
