RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta: The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) organizes an Innovation Dialogue to strengthen research and innovation utilization. This event is part of the “Strengthening Research and Industry Collaboration for Impactful Innovation” (BRIN Goes to Industry) program.

The Indonesian government held this strategic meeting in Jakarta on Wednesday, 25 February 2026 with various industrial partners. More than 50 industries attended this dialogue to provide feedback on their licensing cooperation experiences with BRIN.

They shared the benefits gained and challenges faced during the commercialization process of various licensed products. This interaction aims to improve policies and governance to better suit global market and industry needs.

Between 2021 and 2025, the Indonesian government recorded over 4,400 intellectual properties with 160 successfully licensed. Although this number increases annually, the agency continues to push for higher utilization ratios of these technologies. This effort ensures that Indonesian research can compete and provide solutions on an international scale.

The head of the institution emphasized that scientific success must go beyond publication or merely obtaining patents. He believes that technology must be used realistically by the industry to provide real benefits for the community.

“BRIN is committed to making research and innovation the driving force for the competitiveness of the national industry. Through BRIN Goes to Industry, we strengthen strategic partnerships so that research results do not stop in the laboratory, but are present as concrete solutions for industry and society needs,” Arif Satria said.

The Indonesian government through this agency wants to turn research results into a motor for industrial competitiveness. This commitment ensures that every laboratory breakthrough serves as a concrete solution for the people and industry. He also added that these partnerships are crucial for building a sustainable national innovation ecosystem.

By aligning research with market demands, Indonesia aims to contribute significantly to the world’s technological advancements.
