RRI.CO.ID, Bengkulu - Minister of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Fadli Zon, reviewed the facilities and development potential of Taman Budaya Provinsi Bengkulu, Wednesday, 25 February 2026. The visit formed part of the government’s broader commitment to strengthening cultural spaces as sustainable centers of creativity and public engagement.

During the inspection, the minister assessed existing infrastructure, including an indoor theater, art galleries, music halls, and rehearsal spaces. He described these facilities as strong foundations for expanding artistic and cultural programming in the province.

“We see significant potential here. The facilities are already quite good, and if activated with well-planned programs and support from all stakeholders, this place can become more vibrant and impactful for the community,” Fadli Zon said. He emphasized that strategic management is key to maximizing the venue’s role.

The minister also highlighted the importance of cross-sector collaboration to ensure sustainable operations. Beyond scheduled performances, he suggested complementary amenities such as coffee shops and local culinary offerings based on Indonesia’s Intangible Cultural Heritage to enhance visitor experience.

Fadli Zon further noted that the Bengkulu Cultural Park has received annual Special Allocation Funds from the Ministry of Culture to strengthen the regional arts ecosystem. He expressed hope that the funding would be utilized effectively for both local-scale initiatives and broader programs involving artists, exhibitions, and public performances.

The cultural park operates under the management of the Bengkulu Provincial Education and Culture Office and serves as a hub for local creative communities. It provides space for theater, music, dance, visual arts, and other cultural expressions that reflect Bengkulu’s rich artistic traditions.

Through its theater buildings, exhibition spaces, and open-air performance areas, the venue regularly hosts artistic showcases and cultural events. These activities aim to promote Bengkulu’s cultural identity while encouraging wider public participation in the arts.

Concluding his visit, Fadli Zon expressed hope that the Bengkulu Cultural Park would evolve beyond a performance venue into a dynamic and inclusive cultural center. He stressed that well-planned and sustainable management could transform the site into a major cultural attraction while preserving and nurturing local creative talent.
