RRI.CO.ID, Jordan - President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, reaffirmed Indonesia’s strong commitment to contributing to sustainable peace in the Middle East, particularly in relation to the Palestinian conflict. He delivered the statement during the opening remarks of a bilateral meeting with King of Jordan Abdullah II at Basman Palace in Amman, Wednesday 25, February 2026.
During the meeting, President Prabowo affirmed that Indonesia is prepared to undertake concrete efforts to help achieve a lasting peace settlement. He stressed that a two-state solution, with the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, remains the only viable path toward sustainable peace.
“Yes, Indonesia is committed to do whatever we can for a lasting solution, and in our opinion, the only lasting solution is a two-state solution with an independent Palestine,” President Prabowo stated. He underscored that Indonesia’s position has consistently supported Palestinian independence through diplomatic means.
The President further noted that Indonesia will continue to play an active role in relevant international forums. Such engagement, he said, forms part of Indonesia’s tangible contribution to promoting long-term regional stability.
Indonesia’s participation in the Board of Peace and its support for the 20-point plan initiated by United States President Donald Trump were cited as reflections of this commitment. According to the President, these steps were taken solely to help advance a durable and comprehensive resolution to the conflict.
“And that's why when we were invited to join the Board of Peace and we supported the 20-point plan of President Trump, it's all with the view and effort to do whatever we can to achieve that lasting solution,” he added. He reiterated that all diplomatic efforts undertaken by Indonesia are directed toward achieving a just and enduring peace.
In a warm and cordial atmosphere, President Prabowo expressed his appreciation for the hospitality extended by the Jordanian government. He even referred to Jordan as his second home, highlighting the close ties between the two nations.
“On behalf of Indonesia and personally, I would also like to convey Ramadan Mubarak to the people of Jordan,” the President said. The bilateral meeting marked a strategic momentum to strengthen diplomatic synergy between Indonesia and Jordan, while reaffirming Indonesia’s role as a stabilizing force in safeguarding regional stability and advocating for Palestinian independence.
