OJK and Bank Indonesia Launch PIDI to Strengthen Digital Talent

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta: The Indonesian Financial Services Authority (OJK) and Bank Indonesia initiated the Indonesian Digital Innovation Center during DIGDAYA x Hackathon 2026 in Jakarta, Monday, 23 February 2026. The program was held at Bank Indonesia Headquarters.

The initiative aims to foster digital innovation and talent development in Indonesia’s financial services sector. The Indonesian Digital Innovation Center is known as Pusat Inovasi Digital Indonesia (PIDI).

The launch was marked by Digital Talenta Berdaya dan Berkarya (DIGDAYA) x Hackathon 2026. The event carried the theme “Innovating for the Future, Empowering Digital Talent.”

The hybrid event was attended by Governor of Bank Indonesia Perry Warjiyo. Acting Chairperson of the Board of Commissioners of the Indonesian Financial Services Authority (OJK) Friderica Widyasari Dewi also attended the launch.

Executive Head of Financial Sector Technology Innovation, Digital Financial Assets and Crypto Assets Supervision of OJK Hasan Fawzi joined the program. Friderica Widyasari Dewi emphasized the importance of regulatory synergy. She said collaboration is essential to build a strong young generation. She underlined that youth must become drivers of future digital innovation.

She stressed that regulators must work together to prepare sustainable innovation leaders. She highlighted the need for long term regeneration in the digital sector. She said synergy will strengthen Indonesia’s financial ecosystem.

“We are synergizing to build a young generation who can become successors and, in the future, create digital innovations,” she said.

She explained that participants from across Indonesia will undergo mentoring and structured training. The process includes regeneration, coaching, and industry networking. The goal is to produce applicable technology based solutions for financial services.

Moreover, Friderica highlighted that digital transformation significantly contributes to business innovation and financial inclusion. However, governance, risk management, and consumer protection remain top priorities. She stressed that innovation must always be accompanied by strong safeguards.
