Indonesia Optimizes Food Reserves Through Warehouse Receipt System

RRI.CO.ID, Pidie - The Indonesian government strengthened national food reserves through the Warehouse Receipt System during an inspection in Pidie, Aceh, Monday, 23 February 2026. The review took place at the SRG Warehouse in Glumpang Tiga District.
The initiative supports Indonesia’s food self sufficiency agenda under the Asta Cita program. Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia Budi Santoso emphasized the strategic role of the Warehouse Receipt System (SRG).
He encouraged State Logistics Agency Bulog to optimize the use of SRG warehouses nationwide. The facilities are designed to store unhusked rice, rice, and corn safely.
The statement was delivered after inspecting the warehouse facility in Pidie Regency. The visit demonstrated coordination among institutions within the Indonesian government.
Besides, it also reflected the readiness of regional storage infrastructure in Aceh. Head of the Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency, Tirta Karma Senjaya, accompanied the inspection visit.
Meanwhile, Director General of Domestic Trade Iqbal S. Shofwan also attended the field review. Both represented key trade institutions supporting national food security policies.
He highlighted the importance of reliable storage infrastructure for national reserves. He said Bulog requires adequate warehouse capacity to manage supply stability.
He stressed that SRG plays a strategic role in food reserve management.“SRG warehouses are currently being utilized by Bulog, which requires adequate storage infrastructure support. SRG has become an important part of strengthening food reserves,” Budi Santoso said.
