Government Accelerated Post-Disaster Housing Targeted to be Completed Before Eid

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK), Pratikno, stressed the need to accelerate post-natural disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction in Aceh Province, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra while prioritizing precision, accountability, and legal and social safeguards. This effort is undertaken to ensure that the entire process runs quickly while maintaining proper administration for the benefit of the affected communities.

Pratikno conveyed this during the Task Force Meeting for the Acceleration of Post-Natural Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction in Aceh Province, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, held at the Ministry of Home Affairs Office, Central Jakarta, on Monday, 23 February 2026.

In his directive, the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture emphasized that this meeting is focused on identifying issues on the ground while formulating concrete solutions so that the acceleration of rehabilitation and reconstruction delivered to communities as soon as possible.

"This afternoon, we are taking this opportunity to quickly review the issues faced and then discuss the solutions," Pratikno conveyed.

He emphasized that all stakeholders must act in a coordinated manner, with a valid database and orderly administration to avoid issues in the future.

"We all move quickly, precisely, accountably, and without causing legal or social problems in the future. Therefore, issues of valid and consistent data collection, as well as fulfilling administrative space, are addressed to avoid problems," he said.

According to the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs, acceleration is not just about time, but also ensuring that policies truly address the real needs of the affected communities and can become the best solution amidst various dynamics on the ground.

"Everyone is moving to fulfill the aspirations of the community and seeking a middle ground amidst the existing problems, which is best for the community."

In the meeting, the acceleration of housing development became one of the main priorities, especially ahead of Eid, so that the community can occupy more decent and safe housing.

"The acceleration of housing will be expedited before Eid," Pratikno stated.

Through this Task Force, the central government, along with local governments and relevant ministries/agencies, continues to strengthen coordination, data synchronization, and the acceleration of the implementation of rehabilitation and reconstruction programs so that the social and economic recovery of the affected communities in the three provinces can proceed optimally.

Also present at the meeting were Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf, Head of BNPB Suharyanto, Head of the Central Statistics Agency Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, representatives from ministries/agencies, and relevant regional leaders.
