RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Commission XII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) reminded PT Pertamina to ensure that fuel needs are met ahead of the 2026 Eid homecoming and return period. The availability of subsidized and non-subsidized fuel during that time must not cause difficulties for travelers.
A lawmaker of Commission XII of the DPR RI, Rocky Candra, said this on Monday, February 16, 2026, in Jambi. "To address the influx of travelers, I will closely monitor the availability of both subsidized and non-subsidized fuel, especially on urban roads," he said.
He also encouraged Pertamina to actively monitor any potential disruptions that could lead to public unrest, particularly regarding fuel availability, including subsidized 3-kilogram gas canisters.
"This is taking into account that fuel consumption and gas demand are expected to stay high throughout the fasting month. The Eid homecoming and return flow are also subject to this," he said.
He emphasized that Pertamina must ensure the availability of supplies and a smooth fuel supply at every gas station. The goal is for the public to feel comfortable traveling home for Eid al-Fitr 2026.
"As we all know, public consumption increases during Ramadan, especially as Eid approaches," he said.
According to Rocky, this must be taken into account, especially in southern Sumatra, to avoid public complaints. Rocky's statement relates to the insufficient supply of diesel fuel in Jambi.
Muhammad Hafiz Fatah, Chairman of the Jambi Province National Oil and Gas Entrepreneurs Association (Hiswana Migas), had previously conveyed this information. "Based on calculations with the Hiswana Migas team, diesel fuel demand in Jambi is 450 kiloliters. However, the quota allocated by the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) is only 412 kiloliters," he said.
Hafiz said that Jambi Province should receive more attention due to its strategic geographic location in the center of Sumatra Island. "Logistics and passenger vehicles from Jakarta that fill up their tanks in Merak will run out of gas in Jambi," he said. ***
