RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - President Prabowo held a meeting with several ministers from the Red and White Cabinet at his residence in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, on Tuesday, 27 January 2026. The meeting specifically discussed the development of educational cooperation between Indonesia and several prestigious universities in the United Kingdom.

Cabinet Secretary, Teddy Indra Wijaya, stated in his written statement that President Prabowo directly gathered relevant ministers to delve into the follow-up of strategic cooperation in the higher education sector, particularly in developing superior human resources. "The meeting focused on discussing the progress of educational cooperation between Indonesia and a number of prestigious universities in the United Kingdom,"  the Cabinet Secretary stated.

During the meeting, President Prabowo received a report from the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Brian Yuliarto, regarding the progress of strengthening national higher education, particularly in the fields of Health and STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics), thru international collaboration.

"The Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology reported that President Prabowo's initiative to build 10 campuses in the fields of Health and STEM thru collaboration with renowned British universities received a very positive response from partner institutions," the Cabinet Secretary conveyed.

This meeting in Hambalang reflects President Prabowo's direct and visionary approach to ensuring that every international collaboration truly has a tangible impact on improving the quality of education, national independence, and Indonesia's readiness to face global competition based on science and technology.

Previously, the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, invited leading British universities to collaborate in establishing 10 new universities in Indonesia. The invitation was conveyed by the Head of State at the UK-Indonesia Education Roundtable forum held at Lancaster House, London, on Tuesday, 20 January 2026.

President Prabowo also emphasized Indonesia's openness to foreign lecturers and professors, including the visiting professor scheme from partner universities. The President believes that this cooperation will provide mutual benefits for the development of education in Indonesia.
