RRI.CO.ID, Cilacap - National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) handed over 17 temporary shelters to landslide-affected residents in Cilacap. The handover involved Central Java Province and Cilacap Regency governments.

As quoted by bnpb.go.id, the shelters were allocated for residents of Cibeunying Village, Cilacap Regency. They were affected by the landslide in November 2025.

The shelters are intended for 17 affected households. Their homes were severely damaged and buried by landslide materials.

The handover took place in Jenang Village, Majenang District. It was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

“Seventeen shelter keys were handed to seventeen beneficiary households today,” BNPB's Deputy for Logistics and Equipment Andi Eviana, stated on Tuesday, 27 January 2026.

Each temporary shelter includes essential facilities for daily living. These include bedrooms, toilets, kitchens, and family spaces.

In total, 56 temporary shelters were built by central and local governments. Construction considered disaster-prone zones in the affected area.

The government plans to build permanent housing for all beneficiaries. Regulations will be prepared to manage shelter use properly.
