RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta: Indonesia reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening soft skills through the “Maganghub Soft Skills Programme” webinar in Jakarta, Monday, 26 January 2026. The initiative targets participants of the National Apprenticeship Programme.

It aims to improve young people’s job readiness amid evolving global labour demands. The Ministry of Manpower stated the webinar marked the second implementation of the programme.

A previous session was held ahead of the New Year holiday. Both activities form part of efforts to strengthen the apprenticeship curriculum.

Head of the Agency for Planning and Development of Manpower Prof. Anwar Sanusi outlined the policy direction. He emphasized that soft skills are embedded within the national apprenticeship framework.

The approach aligns Indonesia’s workforce development with international standards. “This Soft Skills Programme is part of the apprenticeship curriculum, where we aim to provide input, particularly related to non-technical competencies or soft skills,” he said.

Prof. Anwar Sanusi highlighted long-term benefits for participants completing different apprenticeship timelines. He said preparation extends beyond technical skills toward broader career readiness.

Such readiness supports smoother transitions into competitive labour markets. “This will bring tremendous benefits to our programme, so that by the end of the programme, whether participants finish in April, May, or July, they will all gain benefits and sufficient preparation to face a brighter future,” he conveyed.

Indonesia’s National Apprenticeship Programme combines structured training with direct workplace exposure. The programme has operated since October 2025 and has entered its third batch.

It focuses on employability, competency development, and practical work experience. The government views soft skills as essential for building resilient and adaptable Indonesian workers.

Officials stated the apprenticeship approach aligns Indonesia’s workforce development with international standards. The initiative is expected to strengthen human capital and enhance Indonesia’s global competitiveness.
