RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The Indonesian Police (Polri) presented several works and achievements during 2025 in a hearing with the country's House of Representatives (DPR) on Monday, 26 January 2026. National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, stated that his institution has achieved various successes in maintaining security and peace.
One of the main achievements is resolving various labour disputes. The Indonesian Police has established a "manpower desk" and redeployed more than 3,000 workers affected by layoffs to Central Java.
"Soon we will also encourage some workers to be re-employed in the West Java region," Listyo conveyed.
Due to its activities, the Police recently received an appreciation from the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) Asia Pacific. It is regarded as one of the few police institutions capable of resolve industrial disputes.
"(According to the ITUC Asia Pacific), the Police was one of the first institutions in the world to provide democratic space for labour struggles, establish a manpower desk, and actively participate in the distribution of affected workers," Listyo said.
In law enforcement, the Police has also prosecuted various types of crimes. According to Listyo, one successful operation was the rescue of 39 victims of human trafficking from East Nusa Tenggara who were to be sent to Australia.
The police also strengthened international cooperation by signing 23 agreements to prevent drug trafficking. All these, and other achievements, received appreciation from members of parliament, including Rikwanto from South Kalimantan.
"Thank God, the report is good, comprehensive, and we can all review the successes of the Police in maintaining public security, upholding the law, and serving the people within the context of its core duties," the politician said.
In the meeting, the member of the House of Representatives also affirmed the commitment to maintaining the Police as an independent institution, especially in supporting the ongoing police reform agenda. The reform was first proposed to address public outcry over the police's declining image.
