RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The Government of the Republic of Indonesia has launched the official logo of Indonesia’s Chairmanship of the Developing Eight (D-8) Organization for Economic Cooperation for the 2026–2027 period. The launch marks the start of public communication for Indonesia’s chairmanship and introduces the visual identity to be used throughout the series of D-8 activities during the period.

The Indonesia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in its statement received by RRI VOI in Jakarta on Monday, 26 January 2026, stated that visually, the D-8 Chairmanship logo combines the symbol of the Nusantara compass and a guiding light, representing direction, hope, and strategic orientation.

“The eight star-shaped elements symbolize the eight D-8 member states united in a single cohesive configuration, reflecting a collective determination to strengthen economic integration, connectivity, and shared prosperity,” the ministry stated.

The Indonesian government hopes the logo launch will enhance the visibility of D-8 at both national and international levels, while also strengthening public understanding of Indonesia’s strategic role within the organization.

In the context of global dynamics, Indonesia’s Foreign Minister Sugiono, in the Annual Press Statement of the Minister for Foreign Affairs on 14 January 2026, affirmed the need for Indonesian diplomacy to be responsive to changes in an increasingly complex and unpredictable global order.

Indonesia’s diplomacy is built on the principle of resilience and the capacity to withstand global pressures and uncertainties, including through inclusive economic and political cooperation in various international forums such as D-8.

As Chair of D-8 for the 2026–2027 period, Indonesia will promote cooperation oriented toward tangible and impactful outcomes, focusing on strengthening economic interactions among member states, creating shared added value, and increasing engagement with the business community. All chairmanship agendas are directed toward delivering concrete and sustainable benefits for D-8 member countries.

Indonesia’s chairmanship carries the theme “Navigating Global Shifts: Strengthening Equality, Solidarity and Cooperation for Shared Prosperity”, which reflects Indonesia’s commitment to lead D-8 in addressing global geopolitical and geoeconomic dynamics through strengthened cooperation and Global South solidarity.
