RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian House of Representatives Commission VII Deputy Speaker Rahayu Saraswati Djojohadikusumo has called for greater use of state-owned media to promote the creative economy. She stressed that the government’s communication strategy must be straightforward, extensive, and easily understood by the public.
Saraswati, popularly known as Sara, argued that traditional promotional methods are no longer relevant to addressing today’s challenges. “In simple terms, the Minister or Director General no longer needs to go around. It’s not the time for that anymore,” she said during a working meeting with the Ministry of Creative Economy at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday, January 22, 2026.
She encouraged closer cooperation between ministries and state-owned media to strengthen public outreach and information services. “I think it is necessary to collaborate with our partners, such as TVRI, RRI, and Antara, to produce public service announcements,” Sara said.
Beyond mainstream outlets, she also highlighted the importance of maximizing state-owned social media platforms. This, she noted, would allow creative economy players to quickly grasp government policies and adapt accordingly.
Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya echoed her remarks, emphasizing that collaboration with state-owned media will continue to be reinforced. He said such partnerships are essential to broaden the reach of government information.
“Collaboration with the media is vital, including with academics, businesses, other ministries and agencies, and financial institutions. In situations like this, collaboration is key to carrying out our tasks effectively,” Minister Riefky said. (Gusti Panji/Lasti Martina)
