KBRN, Aceh Tamiang: The Aceh Tamiang Regency Government continues to distribute assistance to residents affected by flooding that has hit several areas in Aceh Province. Logistic aid from the central government, regional governments, and various non-governmental organizations has begun to be distributed to all sub-districts.

Acting Regional Secretary of Aceh Tamiang Regency, Suibun Anwar, told RRI Voice of Indonesia on Thursday (12/18/2025) that aid arriving from outside the region is first collected at the command center (main post) located at the Aceh Tamiang Regent’s Office, before being distributed to the field through coordination with sub-district heads and village chiefs.

“The assistance coming from outside Aceh Tamiang has been extraordinary, both from the government and non-governmental institutions. All aid is collected at the main post and then distributed to villages through the sub-district heads,” Suibun Anwar conveyed.

He explained that all sub-district heads have now been stationed directly in their respective areas to speed up coordination of aid distribution. Meanwhile, secretaries of regional government offices have been appointed as liaison officers at the regency level.

In addition to food supplies, the regional government has identified several other urgent needs, particularly clean water to remove thick mud left by the floods that is still covering residents’ homes.

Besides clean water, residents also need mud-cleaning equipment such as wheelbarrows, shovels, mops, and rubber boots. The Aceh Tamiang Regency Government continues to open opportunities for assistance from various parties to accelerate post-flood recovery and meet the basic needs of affected communities.
