KBRN, Jakarta : Minister of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. Fadli Zon, has designated 85 National-Ranked Cultural Heritage sites at the National Cultural Heritage Appreciation Event 2025, held in Jakarta, Tuesday (16/12/2025).
This new designation boosts the total number of National-Ranked Cultural Heritage sites to 313, up from 228. The minister credited the National Cultural Heritage Expert Team for the increase and marks an acceleration in the documentation of Indonesia’s cultural heritage.
“This year, we have designated 85 National Cultural Heritage sites, bringing the total number of National-Ranked Cultural Heritage sites to 313, up from 228,” he said.
Fadli Zon explained that the ranking of National Cultural Heritage sites is conducted annually, and in 2025 the number of designations rose significantly compared to the previous year.
According to him, Cultural Heritage sites also hold economic potential in the tourism and creative industries sectors. He noted that proper management of Cultural Heritage can contribute to economic growth.
“We also hope that collaboration with local governments—at the provincial, regency, and city levels—will continue to grow stronger. Cultural Heritage sites may be upstream, but downstream they support tourism, the creative economy, intellectual property, MSMEs, culinary businesses, and other sectors,” the minister explained.
The National Cultural Heritage Appreciation Event 2025 was attended by officials from the Ministry of Culture, regional governments, the Cultural Heritage Expert Team, and stakeholders from various provinces across Indonesia.
