KBRN, Jakarta: The Indonesian government, through Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Pratikno, immediately dispatched hundreds of vital resources, including rubber boats, electric generators, and communication devices, to Sumatra's flood-stricken regions. These critical supplies target isolated areas to rapidly restore access and support emergency response operations following the recent disaster.

"These are things that are urgently needed so that emergency response efforts become more efficient," Pratikno said at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base (Lanud) in Jakarta on Friday, November 28, 2025, as quoted by Antara .

The government has acted swiftly to manage the disaster in Sumatra, which affects Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. A number of aid supplies were deployed to deliver essential logistics to the victims.

Following the direct order of President Prabowo Subianto, the Indonesian Military (TNI) mobilized three Hercules aircraft and one of its newest large-body transport planes, the Airbus A400. These planes transported logistics needed for the disaster victims across the three affected provinces.

Pratikno said that teams from the Ministry of Public Works are also moving to clear access to several locations cut off by landslides. "So, we are focused on emergency response," he confirmed.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya explained that the deployment of the four aircraft was a direct instruction from Prabowo, with all four having departed at 7:30 local time carrying aid.

"Four planes have been dispatched based on a direct instruction from the President (Prabowo Subianto) last night to all ranks. Three Hercules aircraft, and one A400 aircraft that arrived in the country earlier this month, are flying to the three disaster-affected provinces," Teddy noted.

The four aircraft are scheduled to land in Padang, West Sumatra; then at the nearest airport in Tapanuli, namely Silangit Airport, North Sumatra; and at airports in Banda Aceh and Lhokseumawe, North Aceh. Teddy emphasized that this was not the first batch of aid deployed, as Prabowo had instructed his ranks to handle the disaster directly since the first day, November 25.

"Aid has continuously been heading there since a few days ago until today," Teddy said.

The assistance includes all urgent necessities and is being transported using both TNI and civilian aircraft. Some critical logistics immediately dispatched include 150 tents, 64 rubber boats, electric generator sets, and 100 communication signal devices.

"So that communication can be restarted," he explained.

Ready-to-eat food is also being prioritized, and the Ministry of Health and the TNI are deploying medical teams. These medical teams consist of doctors, nurses, and medical supplies. "The important thing is that all aid immediately flies to the location, reaching the deepest areas," Teddy concluded. ***
