KBRN, Jakarta: With the global spotlight on Bali, the 2025 Indonesia Game Developer Exchange (IGDX) 2025 kicks off as a premier platform for Indonesia’s game developers to connect, collaborate, and scale up.

From publishers and investors to international media, the event brings together key players to transform creative dialogue into real-world opportunities, marking a new chapter in Southeast Asia’s digital entertainment landscape.

Indonesian Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Meutya Hafid, stated that the IGDX 2025 serves as a strategic platform for national game industry players to network and build meaningful collaborations.

“IGDX 2025 is a strategic venue where Indonesian game developers can connect with global publishers, investors, distributors, and media, transforming dialogue into collaboration and opportunity,” Meutya said during her opening remarks at IGDX 2025 in Badung, Bali, on Saturday, October 11, 2025, as quoted by antaranews.com.

She noted that Indonesia’s game industry has experienced rapid growth, as reflected in market expansion, job creation, and technological innovation among developers.

Meutya also highlighted that Indonesia’s gaming ecosystem ranks among the top four globally, with 154 million players, accounting for 40 percent of all gamers in Southeast Asia.

With over 2,100 active developers and publishers, the industry contributes approximately IDR 71 trillion (approximately USD 4.55 million) annually, or 0.34 percent of the national gross domestic product.

IGDX is an annual event that has been held since 2019. The 2025 edition runs from October 9 to 11 and features business matchmaking sessions and conferences.

The IGDX Conference features panel discussions and talk sessions with leading figures from both Indonesia’s and the global game industry, offering insights into trends, innovation, and collaboration.

IGDX also includes the IGDX Bootcamp—a five-month incubation program for students to develop game creation skills—and IGDX Career, which connects job seekers with opportunities in the gaming sector.

In addition, IGDX Academy offers a six-month mentorship program for aspiring game developers, guided by expert mentors from various countries.

“IGDX 2025 is one of the most significant events in Indonesia’s game development ecosystem. We’re proud that since its inception in 2019, IGDX has grown into one of the largest game industry gatherings in ASEAN,” said Meutya Hafid. ***
