Prabowo Urges TNI to Prepare for Geopolitical Dynamics

KBRN, Jakarta: President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, led the ceremony that marked the 80th anniversary of the Indonesian Military (TNI) at the National Monument in Jakarta on Sunday (10/5/2025). The solemn ceremony was attended by high-ranking state officials, national figures, and TNI soldiers from all branches of the military.

In his speech, President Prabowo congratulated all TNI members wherever they serve. He affirmed that the TNI is an integral part of the people and is always present to protect the sovereignty of the nation.

“The TNI was born out of the Indonesian people. The TNI remains inseparable from them, ready to sacrifice their lives for the nation and state,” President Prabowo mentioned in his speech.

The theme of the 80th TNI Anniversary was “TNI Patriots of the Republic of Indonesia, Guardians of Democracy for a Progressive Indonesia,” reflecting the TNI's professionalism and dedication in maintaining security and national sovereignty amid ever-evolving global challenges.

Prabowo also highlighted the need for the TNI to stay prepared amid shifting geopolitical dynamics and developments in military technology. He asked all TNI personnel to continue to develop their capabilities and strengthen leadership at every level of the unit.

“The TNI must prepare itself, continue to develop itself, train itself, deepen all the knowledge it needs, and keep up with the times and technology,” Prabowo stated.

The President also appreciated the TNI's significant contribution to supporting national development, especially in maintaining security and stability and assisting communities in various disaster-stricken and border areas.

In addition, Prabowo highlighted the importance of mastering the latest technology, including cyber defense and artificial intelligence (AI), so that the TNI does not fall behind in facing new forms of non-conventional threats.

At the end of his speech, President Prabowo reaffirmed his commitment to continuously reinforcing national defense and improving the welfare of soldiers. He hopes that the TNI will continue to be a fortress of sovereignty and a symbol of pride for the Indonesian people.

“Happy 80th anniversary to the TNI. Keep serving the people, the nation, and the country,” he concluded.
