KBRN, Jakarta: Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka has commended state-owned broadcaster Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) for its 80 years of dedication as a public broadcaster, praising its vital role in fostering national unity and supporting Indonesia’s development.

In a video message released on Thursday, September 11, 2025, Gibran extended his congratulations to the entire RRI family. “I wish a happy 80th anniversary to the entire family of Radio Republik Indonesia,” he said.

He lauded RRI’s longstanding commitment to delivering factual and trustworthy information, noting its contribution to strengthening the nation’s cohesion and progress. “You have an important role, especially in maintaining the unity and development of the Indonesian people through factual and trustworthy information,” he stated.

Looking ahead, the Vice President hopes that RRI will continue to evolve in step with technological advancements. “May RRI continue to uphold its positive legacy and adapt to technological progress in broadcasting the truth, which reinforces our national identity and supports a more advanced and prosperous Indonesia,” he said.
