Whoosh Passengers Surge 20 Percent During Mawlid Holiday

KBRN, Jakarta: The passenger volume for Whoosh, the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train, rose by up to 20 percent during the Mawlid Holiday on Friday, September 5, 2025. Whoosh Company PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) reported a noticeable surge in ticket sales starting Thursday night, September 4, 2025.
Approximately 19,000 Whoosh tickets were sold for departures on Thursday, with several nighttime departures reaching full 100 percent occupancy, a 20 percent increase compared to the previous week.
Eva Chairunisa, General Manager Corporate Secretary at KCIC, conveyed that the passenger volume increase is expected to continue on Friday, September 5, 2025. By Friday morning alone, about 10,000 tickets had already been sold, with sales ongoing.
KCIC projects total departures today could reach around 20,000 passengers, as ticket sales remain open. Tickets are available for purchase until the last departure at 9:25 p.m Jakarta time from Halim Station and 9:05 p.m. Jakarta time from Tegalluar Station.
Eva advised passengers planning to travel on Whoosh during the long holiday to check seat availability and purchase tickets online through official channels such as the Whoosh app and the website ticket.kcic.co.id. Other authorized partner applications for ticket purchase include Access by KAI, Livin by Mandiri, BRImo, Wondr by BNI, tiket.com, and Traveloka.
Offline ticket purchases can also be made at the station counters and Ticket Vending Machines (TVM) at KCIC stations. Additionally, KCIC is running promotional programs in collaboration with various tourist destinations, culinary spots, and hotels in Bandung.

KCIC detailed 21 promotional tourist destinations and free shuttle services from Whoosh stations.
Promotions include free entry tickets, food and beverage discounts, and lodging discounts at participating hotels. Among the destinations involved are Dusun Bambu, The Lodge Maribaya, and Dago Dream Park.
Some locations also offer free shuttle services from Padalarang or Tegalluar stations. Culinary discounts include select offers at Baker Street, Terve Chocolate, and Kurnia Seafood.
Partner hotels such as Swiss Belhotel, Zest Hotel, and Hilton Bandung offer room discounts. Terms and conditions apply, and passengers are encouraged to contact each hotel directly for details via official contacts.
