KBRN, Jakarta: The Public Broadcasting Institution Radio Republik Indonesia (LPP RRI) has officially launched its new initiative, Kita Indonesia RRI, aimed at fostering nationalism and strengthening Indonesia’s national identity.
Speaking on RRI’s Pro3 channel on Saturday, August 23, 2025, LPP RRI President Director Hendrasmo emphasized the importance of cultivating a sense of national pride, particularly among younger generations. “On one hand, we have a responsibility to support national development as outlined in the Asta Cita,” he said.
He noted that the first principle of Asta Cita is to reinforce the ideology of Pancasila. Accordingly, Kita Indonesia was designed to promote ideological resilience and a shared sense of identity across the archipelago.
“This event is a reminder, especially for millennials and Gen Z, of the importance of embracing Indonesia’s national identity amid the currents of globalization,” Hendrasmo stated.
The program also highlights Indonesia’s cultural and artistic diversity, which RRI continues to champion as a source of positive values. Through Kita Indonesia, the broadcaster seeks to deepen ideological understanding, nurture patriotism, and encourage national unity.
“In a globalized world, this kind of initiative is essential to build awareness among our diverse society,” Hendrasmo added. He stressed that nationalism must be continuously reinforced to remain a unifying force in modern times.
The program involves a wide range of stakeholders, including local leaders, legislators, and regional governments, all of whom contribute to amplifying the message of national pride.
“This initiative reaffirms the importance of shared values within our communities,” Hendrasmo said, adding that RRI remains committed to consistently promoting the principles that bind the Indonesian people together.
He concluded by underscoring the central message of Kita Indonesia: “This is what we always strive to remind the public, strengthening nationalism through our programming.”
RRI, he affirmed, continues to be one of the most consistent media platforms in communicating nationalist values. “We regularly broadcast national songs and educational programs that foster unity,” Hendrasmo said. ***
