KBRN, Jakarta: The Ministry of Culture held a special music concert themed around the 1970s in Jakarta, Monday, (30/06/2025). The event, titled "Harmony of the Era," aimed to celebrate and preserve Indonesia’s musical heritage from that decade, while also strengthening the nation's cultural identity.

Minister of Culture Fadli Zon stated that the concert served as a platform to appreciate musicians who have significantly contributed to the development of Indonesian music. According to him, their work played an important role in shaping Indonesia’s cultural landscape.

Fadli emphasized that the event was more than just entertainment. It was a bridge connecting generations—past, present, and future—through music. He noted that the songs from the 70s are still relevant today and represent cultural treasures that deserve recognition and continued appreciation.

In his remarks, the Minister explained that the establishment of the Ministry of Culture, for the first time since 79 years of independence, marked a major step forward in promoting national culture. He added that this momentum must be used to elevate all cultural elements, including music, film, and various artistic expressions.

The Minister also stressed the importance of collaboration between government institutions, artists, and cultural communities to preserve Indonesia’s diverse heritage. He believes that cultural advancement must be carried out inclusively and with long-term commitment.

Fadli stated that the Ministry will continue to encourage programs that promote artistic excellence and cultural literacy. He also highlighted the role of music as an effective medium for cultural diplomacy and national pride on the international stage.

During the concert, Fadli gave special recognition to legendary bands that shaped the sound of the 70s in Indonesia. Groups such as Panbers, Black Selection, The Rollies, and The Mercy’s Band were acknowledged for their artistic contributions and long-lasting influence.
