KBRN, Jakarta: The "velocity" trend on social media turned to have also reached the Presidential Palace. President Prabowo Subianto, during his meeting with the Presidential Palace media crew, was not exempt from being invited to join in on the velocity trend.

"Sir, velocity, Sir. Let's do velocity, Sir," a journalist said at the Merdeka Palace, Monday, March 31, 2025, as quoted by rri.co.id.

President Prabowo immediately agreed and promptly asked the journalists to show him how to do it. "Alright, you go first," replied the President.

This immediately brought immense excitement to the Palace journalists. Most of them enthusiastically joined the President in creating a "velocity" video, ending it with the iconic 'saranghaeyo' hand gesture.

After the "velocity" moment, the journalists eagerly took photos with the Head of State. During the session, President Prabowo struck his signature pose, a silat stance.

This cheerful moment prompted the Palace journalists to shout "eeyyaa" in unison. The President then waved to the journalists and departed.

This warm interaction between the President and the journalists took place in celebration of the 1446 H Eid al-Fitr at the Merdeka Palace. It marked President Prabowo's first Eid celebration as the Head of State.

The velocity trend has gained significant popularity on social media platforms in Indonesia, especially TikTok. It involves creating videos with unique editing effects that modify the speed of clips at specific frames.

The term 'velocity' primarily refers to the unique editing effects applied to video clips, such as altering the speed, adding slow-motion transitions, and syncing movements to music or beats.

While dance moves or hand clapping can be part of these videos, they are secondary to the editing style that defines the trend. The real appeal lies in how creatively these effects are used to enhance the content's visual impact. It's all about making ordinary actions look extraordinary.

The trend has been embraced by many users, including celebrities and influencers, who have contributed to its viral status. Videos featuring the velocity effect often showcase dance moves or creative transitions, making the videos engaging, and widely shared. ***
