KBRN, Jakarta: Greenpeace Indonesia emphasizes the need for more effective climate change campaign strategies to drive public awareness and participation, especially among young people.

"We frequently conduct campaigns related to climate change and the environment. One example is our 99% Camp, a movement that engages many people in real actions for the environment," said Faris Ravy, a Public Engagement Campaigner at Greenpeace Indonesia, in a statement on Friday, March 14, 2025, rri.co.id reported.

Faris explained that several key steps are crucial in campaigns. These include recognizing environmental conditions and identifying the main problems to be addressed.

Then, reaching out to people with similar interests and setting a clear campaign direction.

He also emphasized the importance of youth involvement in environmental campaigns.

"As the younger generation, we can leverage social media platforms such as X, Instagram, and TikTok to gather support and spread the message of change," said Faris.

While Faris acknowledged an increase in youth participation in sustainable living in Indonesia, particularly in the last three to five years, he believes further improvement is needed.

"We should not just stop at an environmentally friendly lifestyle. Political awareness is also important," he explained.

Increased youth involvement in environmental movements is hoped to lead to greener and more sustainable policies.

Therefore, Greenpeace Indonesia encourages collaboration among communities, activists, and the government to achieve real change.

"We must move together. Because the environment's future is in our hands," he concluded. ***
