KBRN, Jakarta: Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Setyo Budiyanto, explained that the search on the house of former West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil was based on witness statements related to alleged corruption at West Java dan Banten Regional Development Bank (Bank BJB).
"Based on witness statements, it is necessary to search to ensure whether or not there is a connection to the case and also to clarify the Bank BJB case," said Setyo when confirmed on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, as reported by rri.co.id.
Ridwan Kamil has previously expressed readiness to cooperate in assisting the KPK probing the alleged corruption case at Bank BJB.
"It is true that we were visited by the KPK team regarding the case at Bank BJB. As good citizens, we are very cooperative and fully support and assist the KPK team professionally," Ridwan Kamil said in a written statement quoted on Tuesday, March 11, 2025.
The KPK said that the case at Bank BJB is related to alleged corruption in advertising procurement. The state losses related to this case are estimated to reach hundreds of billions of rupiah.
"Hundreds of billions, I forget the exact figure," KPK Deputy Chairman Fitrih Cahyanto said, when confirmed on Tuesday, March 11, 2025.
The KPK has named five suspects in connection with the alleged corruption at Bank BJB. However, KPK spokesperson Tessa Mahardhika Sugiarto is still reluctant to reveal the identities of the suspects.
"Around five people," said Tessa at the Merah Putih Building, Jakarta on Monday, March 10, 2025.
