KBRN, Jakarta: Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka visited the construction site of the Serang-Panimbang Toll Road Section 2 (Rangkasbitung-Cileles) in Lebak Regency, Banten, Thursday (6/3/2025), to ensure the project is progressing as planned. Deputy Minister of Public Works, Diana Kusumastuti, who accompanied the Vice President, reported that the Serang-Panimbang Toll Road consists of three sections, with Sections 1 and 2 completed and Section 3 at 91% completion.
"Regarding the Serang-Panimbang construction, there are three sections. Alhamdulillah, Sections 1 and 2 have been completed, although some land issues still need to be resolved. Section 3 is 91% finished, with a few areas still requiring land acquisition, but the process for these areas is nearly complete," said Diana.
Diana explained that while land acquisition issues are still being resolved for some areas, they are largely cleared, and the toll road project is on track to be finished by the end of 2026. The toll road is expected to support the development of the Tanjung Lesung Special Economic Zone (KEK), boosting tourism and industrial growth in the region.
"This project is mainly focused on tourism, with Tanjung Lesung already seeing significant development. With the toll road, we hope to enhance tourism in the KEK, as well as in Ujung Kulon and Sumur, while also promoting industrial areas," she said.
In the same meeting, Banten Governor Andra Soni expressed hope that the toll road would be operational soon, highlighting that the Banten Provincial Government, along with the local administrations of Lebak and Pandeglang, are committed to supporting the toll gate areas to foster new economic growth.
