KBRN, Jakarta: The implementation of Flexible Work Arrangements (FWA) for state civil apparatus (ASN) is expected not to disrupt public services.
"This must not be overlooked. It should not turn into a hidden vacation," public policy analyst Sidik Pramono of the University of Indonesia (UI) said in a dialog with Pro3 RRI on Monday, March 3, 2025, as reported by rri.co.id.
Sidik emphasized that ASN must maintain strong performance even under FWA. He clarified that the concept of FWA is not about extending holidays but continuing to work effectively.
He highlighted the importance of having clear mechanisms for FWA implementation. Strict supervision of ASN and immediate socialization of the policy are necessary.
"When we ask ASN about the mechanism, they often don’t know," he added.
Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) revealed the implementation of Flexible Work Arrangements (FWA). He expressed hopes that the policy would be implemented on March 24, 2025, seven days before the Eid al-Fitr celebration.
"We have coordinated with the Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Ministry regarding the implementation of FWA, previously known as work from anywhere," said AHY, adding that this policy is expected to help distribute the flow of people's mobility earlier in ahead of the Eid homecoming season. ***
