KBRN, Jakarta: The Indonesian long holidays of the Isra Mi'raj Day, collective leave, and Imlek has just ended. Today, entering the first week of February 2025, people may begin looking for public holidays, or 'red dates' as it is locally known, hoping for more time off or a chance to relax.

However, according to the 2025 calendar and the Joint Decree (SKB) of three ministers on public holidays and collective leave, no official public holidays or collective leave days scheduled for the entire month of February, rri.co.id reported.

Nevertheless, individuals can still enjoy at least the four weekends marked as 'red dates' to take advantage of time off. They are Sundays, January 2, 9, 16 and 23, 2025.

In addition to the 'red dates', school children can enjoy a holiday period at the end of February and early March 2025. This coincides with the school's self-study holiday in preparation for the Ramadan fasting month.

During the fasting month, the government implemented an independent learning policy for school students. This policy was based on the Joint Circular Letter (SEB) issued by three ministries regarding learning during Ramadan 1446 Hijri/2025 AD.

The SEB stipulated that learning activities would be conducted independently for five days at the beginning of Ramadan 2025, from February 27 to March 5, 2025.

This meant that students do not go to school but there is still a learning scheme outside of school or in their respective places.

“On February 27 and 28 and March 3, 4, and 5, 2025, learning activities are carried out independently in the family environment, places of worship, or with the community, according to the assignments from the respective school/madrasah/religious education unit,” reads the provisions of the SEB.

With the four weekends, in total there are six days off that can be enjoyed by school children during February 2025. ***
