Minister Urges Industry-Linked Vocational Training and Inclusion

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian government is strengthening human resource competencies through vocational training aligned with industry needs and affirmative programs for vulnerable groups. Minister of Manpower, Yassierli, delivered the statement in Jakarta, Thursday 12 February 2026 during Indonesia Berdaya event.

Yassierli said enhancing workforce quality must become a national priority amid rapid labor market changes. He stressed that training programs must be directly connected to the demands of businesses and industry.

“First, strengthening human resource competencies through vocational training with link and match to industry needs, including affirmative programs for vulnerable groups,” he said. He added that the ministry has initiated various inclusive training programs for persons with disabilities.

According to him, the link and match approach is designed to reduce the skills gap between training graduates and industrial requirements. The strategy is expected to improve job placement rates and workforce readiness.

Yassierli noted that inclusive policies remain central to the ministry’s employment agenda. He emphasized that vulnerable groups must have equal access to competency development opportunities.

Beyond skills development, the government is also expanding job opportunities through entrepreneurship and emerging sectors. He said technology-based industries and the green economy offer significant potential for future employment growth.

The Ministry of Manpower is also strengthening worker protection and fostering harmonious industrial relations. Yassierli said productivity and workers’ welfare must advance in parallel to ensure sustainable growth.

In addition, the government continues to expand social security coverage for workers as a form of state protection against socio-economic risks. He underscored that comprehensive protection is essential to building a resilient and competitive national workforce.
