Kiky Aprillia Returns With New Dangdut Single “Katonen”

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Indonesian dangdut singer Kiky Aprillia returns with a new single “Katonen" released in April 2026. Blending the lively rhythms of koplo with melancholic melodies, the song reflects Kiky’s musical style while exploring memories of past relationships.

According to Swara Bintang’s YouTube channel, “Katonen,” meaning “being haunted by memories,” tells the story of someone haunted by the past. Feelings of longing, despair, and desire are conveyed strongly through every lyric.

Speaking on a recent episode of Voice of Indonesia’s music program, The Session, Kiky said she was excited to collaborate with Danar Widianto as the songwriter and producer, while Danang served as her vocal director. “Thank God, I had the opportunity to collaborate with Danar from X Factor, and my vocal director was Danang. I’m very happy. I really love the song,” Kiky said.

Kiky began her musical journey at six, performing dangdut songs during Independence Day celebrations at her elementary school. During junior high school, Kiky performed with various dangdut orchestras across Pati, Central Java, before becoming a guest star during high school.

In 2023, she competed in MNCTV’s Primadona Pantura dangdut singing contest and finished as the runner-up. The competition provided vocal and dance coaching, giving Kiky valuable experience and strengthening her confidence as a performer.

Afterwards, Kiky joined Star Media Nusantara, which she described as a milestone in her journey toward the national entertainment industry. In 2026, she released “Katonen” as her second single this year, continuing her journey as a dangdut singer.

Four months after its release, “Katonen” had accumulated nearly 240,000 views on YouTube, according to Kiky’s latest update. With simple lyrics, a melancholic and captivating melody, and Kiky’s distinctive vocal character, “Katonen” offers an emotional dangdut experience for listeners.
