“Sederhana”, Sheila on 7’s Special 30th Anniversary Release

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta — Indonesian noted band Sheila on 7 released their latest single titled “Sederhana” (“Simple”) on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. The song marks the band’s 30-year journey and serves as a special gift for their fans.

The song “Sederhana” was first composed by Sheila on 7 guitarist Eross Candra before being refined together with vocalist Duta Modjo and bassist Adam Subarkah.

Through this song, they deliver a reflective message about the importance of living simply amid the pressures of modern life. Eross said the song is especially intended for younger generations who are facing various life challenges.

According to him, true happiness comes from living within one’s needs rather than endlessly chasing desires. Eross added that the ability to distinguish between needs and wants is important in today’s consumerist lifestyle. By understanding the difference, people can live more wisely and appreciate simplicity.

Musically, “Sederhana” presents a different vibe with the addition of rap. This becomes Sheila on 7’s second work to use such elements after “Pemuja Rahasia” ("Secret Admirer") released in 2004.

Meanwhile, Duta said the release of the song is something special because Sheila on 7 rarely celebrates the band’s anniversary with a new work. A lyric video for the song was also released through the band’s official YouTube channel.

In addition to celebrating three decades of their career journey, “Sederhana” is expected to deliver a positive message to listeners. The latest single has been released through 507 Records and is now available on various digital music platforms.
