RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf) has expanded its Creative Acceleration Program (AKTIF Musik) to West Java, facilitating professional music video production for prominent local talents Ega Robot Ethnic Percussion and Ade Astrid.
Bandung marks the ninth region reached by this initiative, following successful rollouts in provinces such as Aceh, Central Java, North Sulawesi, and Maluku. The program is designed to provide high-quality production standards that allow regional artists to compete in the digital market while maximizing the economic value of their creative works.
“The Ministry of Creative Economy manages everything related to added economic value. In the music subsector, that value is found in opening distribution and commercialization channels and managing intellectual property rights,” said Creative Economy Minister Teuku Riefky Harsya on Friday, May 1, 2026, as quoted on Ministry's official website.
The production phase took place from April 5 to 8, 2026, utilizing scenic and cultural locations including the Ega Robot Art Studio, Saung Komando Ciwidey, and Tepi Gunung Nature Park.
The two featured projects highlight the rich diversity of Sundanese music through distinct artistic styles. Ega Robot Ethnic Percussion produced a video for Napak Jagat Pasundan, a track that centers on intricate ethnic collaboration.
Meanwhile, Ade Astrid filmed a visual for Goyang Gerengseng, a song that features a vibrant and distinct Sundanese Dangdut, also known as Popy Sunda, vibe.
The music video for Napak Jagat Pasundan is scheduled for release on May 2, 2026, with Ade Astrid’s video following later in the month.
The AKTIF Musik program is more than a production grant, it serves as an advocacy tool for mid-tier local musicians to help them navigate the professional music industry. A core focus is the management of Intellectual Property (IP), encouraging musicians to become professionally independent and ensuring their work is monetized effectively on digital platforms.
Ega Cahyar Mulyana, the founder of Ega Robot Ethnic Percussion, expressed his gratitude for the comprehensive support. He noted that the facilitation included physical production as well as conceptual and institutional capacity building, which is vital for inclusive and sustainable creative growth. ***
