RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The K-pop phenomenon has deeply integrated into Indonesian lifestyle, influencing everything from fashion to community dynamics. This cultural surge has paved the way for local talents to break into the South Korean entertainment industry, with Muhammad Rifki Fahri, better known as Zayyan of the multinational group XODIAC, emerging as a prominent figure.
Born in Tangerang, Banten, on February 23, 2000, Zayyan’s journey to the international stage began with his passion for music. Before moving to South Korea, he sharpened his vocal skills and stage presence by participating in several national televised singing competitions in Indonesia.
His path to debut required immense dedication, involving a rigorous and intensive training period under his South Korean agency. Zayyan first caught the eye of global fans in 2022 when his profile was officially announced alongside his fellow group members.
As a vocalist for XODIAC, he has become a symbol of Indonesian representation in the highly competitive K-pop market, often engaging with fans through social media to share his professional milestones.
The skyrocketing popularity of K-pop in Indonesia has not gone unnoticed by the government. Following a diplomatic visit to South Korea in early April 2026, President Prabowo Subianto reportedly plans to increase the frequency of K-pop concerts held in Indonesia.
Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono confirmed this initiative during a press briefing at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. He noted that the plan emerged as a direct result of diplomatic conversations intended to benefit the vast community of local K-pop enthusiasts.
"Yesterday in a conversation, it was conveyed that specifically for K-pop fans, there are plans to increase the number of concerts," Sugiono said.
The government views this move as a strategic form of cultural and economic diplomacy, acknowledging that the presence of global idols like Zayyan serves as a bridge for deeper cooperation between Indonesia and South Korea while inspiring the next generation of Indonesian creative talent. ***
