RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The management of Taman Impian Jaya Ancol in Jakarta, has unveiled a strategic transformation aimed at capturing the interest of the younger demographic, specifically targeting Generation Z and Gen Alpha.
The President Director of PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol, Syahmudrian Lubis, said that the initial phase of this overhaul focuses on immediate visitor experiences. This includes a streamlined entry system designed to be more orderly and comfortable.
"We have now categorized entry lanes between those who already possess tickets, those who have made prior bookings, and those who have not," he said on Monday, April 20, 2026.
Management aims to provide a seamless entry process for all guests. Syahmudrian further added that the company plans to revitalize the night entertainment sector as a new driver for growth. "Our vision is to establish Ancol as the largest night entertainment hub on the Jakarta coast," he remarked.
As a preliminary step, Ancol will introduce a Disco Eighties themed entertainment concept to attract visitors and offer a unique experience. Furthermore, facility development includes the construction of a beach club at the former Segarra site. This venue will integrate lifestyle amenities, such as beachfront padel courts and wellness activities like Pilates.
"There will be a sophisticated blend of lifestyle, sports, and entertainment. We are also preparing a semi-beach club, which we hope to inaugurate in the near future, " Syahmudrian explained.
Looking ahead, Ancol targets 24-hour operations to better align with the activity patterns of the younger generation. "To remain relevant to Gen Z and Gen Alpha, we must acknowledge that their peak activity hours often extend into the night," he concluded. (Annaila Azzahra/Bambang MBKA)
