RRI.CO.ID, Makassar - The world’s largest book sale, Big Bad Wolf (BBW) Books, is returning to Makassar, South Sulawesi to strengthen the local literacy movement by providing access to millions of high-quality international titles at affordable prices. The event will be held at the Summarecon Mutiara Makassar Convention Center (SMMCC) from April 2 to 12, 2026, and is open to the public free of charge.

This year’s event marks the second time the international book bazaar has visited the city, serving as a milestone in BBW Indonesia’s decade-long journey to expand literacy across the archipelago.

"This activity will be held at the Summarecon Mutiara Makassar Convention Center (SMMCC) on April 2–12, 2026, and is open to the public for free," said Founder of BBW Books Andrew Yap in Makassar on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

Under the global mission Change the World, One Book at a Time, BBW Indonesia is celebrating its 10th anniversary, dubbed BBW X-Xtraordinary, by embarking on its largest literary journey yet, spanning 14 cities throughout Indonesia.

Andrew Yap highlighted that Makassar was chosen for its strategic position as a center for education and culture in South Sulawesi.

"Makassar has extraordinary energy in terms of the spirit of learning and reading," he noted, expressing appreciation for the local community's enthusiasm for books.
