RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The iconic courtyard of the Cut Meutia Mosque in Jakarta is set to transform into a hub of music and philanthropy as the Ramadan Jazz Festival (RJF) 2026 returns for its 15th edition. Scheduled for Friday, March 6, and Saturday, March 7, 2026, the festival continues its tradition of blending soulful jazz rhythms with the spiritual essence of the holy month.

Organized by the Cut Meutia Mosque Youth (RICMA) in collaboration with WartaJazz, this year’s festival adopts the theme "Harmony for the Nation" (Harmoni Untuk Negeri). Beyond the music, the event serves as a platform for Indonesian youth to show solidarity with those affected by recent disasters in Sumatra.

Entering its 15th year, the RJF remains a global anomaly: the only jazz festival in the world held in a mosque courtyard during Ramadan. The organizers emphasize that the event uses the "language" of music to spread peace and harmony, inspired by the values of sincerity and love for humanity.

Unlike standard commercial concerts, the Ramadan Jazz Festival is a social movement. A hundred percent of the ticket proceeds, collected through a donation-based system, will be channeled toward humanitarian missions.

“This is not just an ordinary music concert; the Ramadan Jazz Festival 2026 is a social movement. All profits from ticket sales will be donated 100 percent,” explained Agus Setiawan Basuni, Managing Director of WartaJazz and the festival's Artistic Director.

This year’s funds are earmarked for West Sumatra, specifically focusing on forest reforestation programs and mosque renovations.

The festival is expected to attract over 5,000 visitors, featuring a vibrant blend of jazz legends and contemporary favorites. The confirmed lineup includes iconic performers such as Candra Darusman, as well as Nikita Dompas & Detik Waktu Quartet featuring Andien & Adira Kania.

Adding to the orchestral scale of the event is the Galaxy Big Band Jazz Orchestra, alongside a powerful collaboration between Krakatau, Andre Dinuth, and Barry Likumahuwa. Furthermore, the stage will host Societeit de Harmonie x Natasya Elvira, with popular acts Sore and Sisitipsi also confirmed to perform.

The event is also anticipated to host various high-profile figures, including political leaders, social icons, and ambassadors from partner nations, celebrating 25 years of WartaJazz’s contribution to the Indonesian music ecosystem.

True to its roots, the entry mechanism remains focused on the spirit of sedekah (charity). Attendees can secure their spot by making a donation rather than buying a traditional ticket.

“Friends can donate through the Goers application or directly at the event location (on the spot) on the day of the event,” said Project Officer Ali Akbar. ***
