RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Ministry of Creative Economy has expressed its support for the upcoming Jakarta Fashion Week (JFW) 2027. Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya made the statement during an audience with JFW Chairperson Svida Alisjahbana in Jakarta on Thursday, 8 January 2026.

He noted that Jakarta Fashion Week continues to progress as a creative economy movement that celebrates innovation, diversity, and the evolution of style. “The most important aspect of a fashion festival is its impact on local designers and the export markets that can be developed in other countries,” Riefky conveyed.

Moreover, the Ministry of Creative Economy already has the Indonesian Creative Export Acceleration Program (ASIK), which ensures that the fashion subsector is ready to move up to the next level,” Teuku Riefky said in his official statement.

JFW connects the designer ecosystem with international events while elevating Indonesian wastra (traditional textiles) to the global stage. The meeting also discussed recent developments, achievements from the previous year, and strategic collaboration plans for JFW 2027 to further advance Indonesia’s fashion industry internationally.

“We are ready to revive collaborations, for example with the Ministry of Trade and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, both of which have extensive networks and potential sponsors. This will enhance the sustainable development of the fashion subsector through initiatives driven by JFW,” Teuku Riefky conveyed.

The presence of the Ministry of Creative Economy at the peak of JFW 2026 last November served as a strong momentum for fostering cross-country collaboration within ASEAN. Support from various ministries enabled JFW to significantly increase awareness and participation across the fashion ecosystem, generating a total of 619 media publications within eight days, covering both national and international outlets.
