"Our vocational talents competed with participants from various countries and faced work standards and assessments applicable at the global level," Sukro said through a press release on Tuesday, September 29, 2026.
The 48th WSC took place from September 22–27, 2026, in Shanghai, China. The competition featured more than 1,400 participants.
Indonesia sent 20 competitors across 17 skill fields. Before departure, they underwent selection and training, including through Training Centers at several training institutions and educational bodies, such as BBPVP Bekasi for the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning and Electronics fields.
According to Sukro, the experience at WSC also serves as learning material for the development of vocational training in Indonesia, particularly in observing competency demands, technology, precision, and work quality. Sukro mentioned that moving forward, the Ministry of Manpower will prepare for participation in WSC earlier and more thoroughly by coordinating with the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education.
