Prabowo Calls on BRICS to Strengthen Industrialization and Global Supply Chains

RRI.CO.ID, New Delhi - President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, has called on BRICS member countries to strengthen cooperation in industrialization and global supply chains as part of efforts to address various global challenges and sustain economic growth in developing countries.

He said BRICS countries have complementary resources, production capacities, technologies, and markets that can be optimized to build stronger industrial cooperation.

“Let me offer something concrete. Let us industrialize together. Let us optimize the resources and capacities that we have together,” Prabowo said in his speech at the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi, India, Sunday, September 13, 2026.

According to the President, BRICS already has a strong foundation for supply chains through the resources and economic capacities of its member countries. Therefore, the challenge is to connect and optimize these strengths to generate greater added value for all members.

“BRICS essentially already has supply chains. Our task is to connect and optimize them, so that the strengths we already have can generate greater value for all of us,” he said.

Prabowo also emphasized the importance of linking resilience to climate change with national development. He said Indonesia has strategic resources, including critical minerals, renewable energy resources to support clean technologies, and forests that are important to the world.

He added that BRICS countries and the Global South face interconnected challenges, ranging from climate change and natural disasters to supply chain disruptions. Therefore, cooperation that combines resources, technology, production capacity, and markets is important to strengthen resilience while creating investment and job opportunities.
