Indonesia and Kuwait Strengthen Energy and Investment Cooperation

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia and Kuwait have agreed to strengthen their bilateral partnership, contributing to regional stability and energy security through enhanced cooperation in a number of priority sectors.
“Indonesia and Kuwait are strengthening a partnership that contributes to regional stability and energy security,” Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono said while welcoming Kuwaiti Ambassador to Indonesia Khalid Jassim Alyassin, who presented his credentials in Jakarta on Tuesday, July 28, 2026.
During the meeting, the two countries discussed concrete measures to expand cooperation, particularly in the areas of energy and development investment.
“We discussed concrete steps to advance cooperation in priority sectors such as energy and investment for development,” Sugiono said.
In addition to discussing bilateral relations, Foreign Minister Sugiono and Ambassador Khalid Jassim Alyassin exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East.
“We also exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East and reaffirmed the importance of de-escalation, the peaceful settlement of conflicts, and respect for international law,” Sugiono said.
The two countries reaffirmed the importance of de-escalation to ease tensions in the region. They also agreed that all conflicts should be resolved through dialogue and peaceful means while upholding international law.
