RRI.CO.ID. Jakarta - The Indonesian Diaspora Network Global (IDN Global) has officially launched Diaspora Care, a worldwide humanitarian and social impact initiative. The program mobilizes the generosity, expertise, and volunteerism of Indonesians across the globe to support fellow Indonesians in need and create lasting impact in communities across Indonesia.

With more than eight million Indonesians living in over 100 countries, Diaspora Care channels the collective strength of the diaspora into a global network of compassion. The initiative is grounded in gotong royong, the Indonesian value of mutual cooperation, and reflects a shared commitment to ensure that no Indonesian faces hardship alone. As Joko Supriyanto, Chair of the Diaspora Care Working Group, stated: “Diaspora Care is more than a charity — it is a movement. No matter where Indonesians live, we remain one family.

” Diaspora Care serves as a trusted platform that connects individuals, communities, businesses, and institutions. Its work spans emergency response, education, healthcare, disaster recovery, volunteerism, and sustainable community development. The programs are built around five strategic pillars: Diaspora Relief for emergency humanitarian assistance; Diaspora Care Network as a global support system of local chapters and volunteers; Diaspora Gives Back for sustainable development projects in Indonesia; Volunteer Corps to mobilize skilled professionals; and the Diaspora Impact Fund, a transparent and sustainable philanthropic fund.

A flagship campaign of the movement is the Quarter-a-Day Movement. It invites Indonesians worldwide to contribute just US$0.25 per day, or about US$7.50 per month. These small, consistent contributions are pooled to fund emergency aid, scholarships, healthcare, disaster relief, and community development. The goal is to show that meaningful change can start with everyday generosity.

Diaspora Care will operate through global collaboration. It will partner with Indonesian embassies and consulates, IDN Global chapters, community organizations, universities, corporations, philanthropic foundations, and non-profit partners around the world. The organization is also establishing partnerships with tax-exempt non-profit entities in multiple countries to enable compliant local fundraising and donor services.

The movement invites all Indonesians and friends of Indonesia to get involved — as members, volunteers, chapter leaders, corporate partners, mentors, or supporters of the Quarter-a-Day Movement. Every contribution of time, expertise, or financial support helps build a global community where no Indonesian is left behind.
