RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Australian government through the Ministry for International Development stated that Australia is supporting resilient and inclusive economic growth in Indonesia by mobilising new and innovative financing. The Albanese government knows a strong region means a stronger Australia.

“Indonesia is one of Australia's closest partners and is central to our own economic future. A more prosperous and resilient Indonesia means greater trade and investment opportunities for Australian businesses,” Minister for International Development of Australia, the Hon Dr Anne Aly, said.

The Federal Government, through a foundational investment of $11.62 million by Australian Development Investments, is catalysing Australian philanthropic funds to expand its climate and economic cooperation with Indonesia.

In a press release received by RRI VOI on Saturday, July 25, 2026, the government of Australia stated that Minderoo Foundation, the Paul Ramsay Foundation and the LEEAF Trust will invest $12.57 million alongside the Australian Government.

This landmark public-philanthropic partnership will back Indonesian small- and medium-sized enterprises in the agriculture, agroforestry and aquaculture sectors to grow and attract further finance. The partnership will support climate action, create local jobs and improve gender equality across Indonesia.

The statement also said,”This initiative is one of many supporting the implementation of Invested: Australia's Southeast Asia Economic Strategy to 2040. Australia will continue to work with Indonesia and other partners across Southeast Asia to invest in our collective future and prosperity.”

Minister for International Development of Australia, the Hon Dr Anne Aly, said,“Indonesia is one of Australia's most important neighbours and trading partners. When Indonesia is resilient and prosperous, Australia benefits too.”

"We're bringing together public, philanthropic and private investment to help unlock finance for small-and-medium-sized businesses that create jobs, support livelihoods and build more sustainable local economies,” she said.

The Minister further conveyed,"Australia's future is tied to the future of our region. Investing in Southeast Asia's resilience and prosperity is firmly in Australia's national interest."
