Bogor City Administration Boosts Ties with Egypt Through Diplomatic Visit

RRI.CO.ID, Bogor - Bogor City is strengthening cooperation with Egypt through a diplomatic visit by the Egyptian Ambassador to Indonesia. The meeting took place at Bogor City Hall in West Java on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.

The three-day visit aims to reinforce friendship while introducing Bogor's history, culture, and development potential. The city government also sees the visit as an opportunity to expand cooperation with Egypt.

Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim, accompanied by Chairperson of the Bogor City Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK ) Movement Team Yantie Rachim, welcomed Egyptian Ambassador to Indonesia, Yasser Hasan Farag Elshemy. The meeting highlighted Bogor's openness to partnerships in education, culture, tourism, and other strategic sectors.

"We sincerely appreciate this visit and hope the friendship between Indonesia and Egypt will continue to grow, while creating mutually beneficial cooperation for both sides," Dedie said.

During the visit, the ambassador was invited to tour the Balai Kirti Museum to learn about Indonesia's presidential history. The program also highlighted Bogor's cultural heritage and tourism attractions.

Ambassador Yasser Hasan Farag Elshemy, expressed appreciation for the warm welcome from the Bogor City Government. He highlighted the longstanding relationship between Indonesia and Egypt, particularly in education.

"Thank you to the Mayor of Bogor for the warm welcome. Indonesia and Egypt have enjoyed a very strong relationship, including through thousands of Indonesian students pursuing education in Egypt. I hope this friendship will continue to grow even stronger in the future," he said.

The Bogor City Government hopes the visit will open broader opportunities for bilateral cooperation. It also expects stronger people-to-people exchanges between Indonesia and Egypt in the coming years.
